On the board

The Lupus Foundation of America, Southeast Florida chapter in Delray Beach recently named newly elected board members for 2008-2009. They are Chris Acevedo, Monica Albano, Kathleen Daley, James Denegall, Stephanie Kahlert, Leigh Keaton and Henry Mellon.

J. Reeve Bright was named chairman; Candice Friis, vice chairwoman; Christine Davies, secretary; Robert Weiss, treasurer and John Apgar, immediate past chairman.

Recognized

Katie Fitzpatrick, chief executive officer of Caden Group, was recently awarded the March of Dimes "Building the Community Award," in Fort Lauderdale

Cathy Stutin, firm partner at Fisher & Phillips LLP, and the firm at large, were honored by the 2008 Broward Partnership for the Homeless Inc. with a Special Recognition Award for Stutin, recently at the 8th annual Breakfast for Champions of the Homeless, and to the firm for its dedication in providing pro bono services for BPHI.

Dr. Leslie Polland honored by the Miami-Dade County Health Department with its "Volunteer Physician of the Year 2008." Polland helped to open the Good News Care Center, a free health care facility for Dade County's uninsured population, while serving on the Physician's Community Service Committee at Baptist Hospital.
